Annual Holiday Giving Project

The Firefighters use your monetary donations to buy new coats from the nationwide program Operation Warm. The coats go to more than 3,000 children in Northern Virginia each winter. The Firefighters work with local schools, shelters, and churches to identify and serve children in need. They also host a holiday event during which local needy children select a holiday toy and book, and some receive a new coat. You are invited to attend that fun event which will be held in December – we will let you know which day soon. The older children receive gift cards so they can select their own gifts. The need for gifts for older children (9 up) is great. Suggested places to buy gift cards are Target, Walmart, Old Navy, or VISA. If you prefer to buy a gift for an older child, some suggestions are board games, remote control cars, teen make-up kits, basketballs, footballs, or soccer…
